Social Value Festival this July

Social Value Festival this July

Social Value Festival this July

Monday 19th July marks the launch of Essex County Council’s first Social Value Festival, which continues throughout the week until Thursday 22nd July. The virtual festival is aimed at businesses of any size, ranging from small to medium enterprises, to large organisations and as well as social and community enterprises, across a wide range of sectors.

Social value is a holistic approach which looks at the wider economic, social and environmental impacts of an organisation’s activities. It is a tool for local economic growth, creating opportunities for Essex businesses and charities; jobs and skills development for Essex residents; preparing young people for employment, ensuring they are aware of opportunities; and reducing negative impacts on the environment.

With inspirational keynote speakers and deep dive thematic sessions, the Social Value Festival is the ideal opportunity for organisations to find out more about Social Value and learn how we can deliver it together. There will be sessions focusing on the Essex County Council approach to Social Value, the Essex TOMs (Themes, Outcomes and Measures) which help us quantify the Social Value delivered, SMEs, VCSEs, employment, social care, environment, and technology.
